This website

You can read this product and policy information without creating an account. This website offers optional product feedback and file attachments as explained below. It does not collect newsletter subscriptions or AI chat messages. The product and policy pages do not load payment checkout or advertising trackers. Paddle checkout loads on the purchase page only after you choose to continue. Completed trial-installer responses are counted on the server as explained below. The download link retrieves the installer. Trial activation starts only when you choose it in the app; activation email links return you to NeuRig MIDI for verification. The product and policy pages do not set an analytics or access cookie, or save preferences in your browser’s local storage. Paddle checkout may use necessary storage as described below. The interactive product demonstration runs in your browser and sends no MIDI or form information.

The website is hosted by Hetzner and delivered through Cloudflare. Connection information, including your IP address, request time and requested resource, is processed as needed to deliver and secure the site. Necessary website delivery and abuse prevention rely on our legitimate interests in providing a secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Provider processing follows the applicable data-protection arrangements and safeguards. We keep delivery and security records only as long as needed for those purposes and applicable obligations.

Trial-download counts

We count completed trial-installer responses from the dedicated trial-download link to understand trial delivery and take-up. The minimal completion record contains a UTC timestamp, a random identifier for that request, the delivery source, installer build, HTTP method and status, response-body byte count and completion marker. These counter records do not store raw IP addresses, User-Agent strings, referrers, cookies or email addresses. Connection information is still processed separately as needed to deliver and secure the website, as described above.

A download means an installer response fully transferred by the server, not a unique person, a confirmed installation or proof that the file was saved. Another completed download counts again. Interrupted or partial transfers and downloads through the app updater are excluded. Trial starts are counted separately from the licensing service as aggregate counts of Macs starting a trial; a website visit or download never starts one.

Raw completion logs and private per-request deduplication identifiers or digests are kept for no more than 30 days in the active counter. Encrypted recovery backups are kept separately and may retain an older snapshot; they are used only for recovery. Daily and build-level totals are retained for operating statistics without request identifiers or personal data. Reports are restricted to the operator. Counting begins when the measurement is enabled; earlier download history cannot be reconstructed. This adds no browser analytics SDK, tracking cookie or advertising tracking, and does not subscribe you to marketing.

Email contact and optional external links

If you email the developer, the information you choose to send is used to answer your request, provide support or take steps you request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), or for our legitimate interests in answering general enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). Your message does not subscribe you to marketing. Please do not send passwords, licence keys, private activation links or payment-card details. Correspondence is kept while needed to handle the enquiry and any applicable legal obligations or claims.

Ko-fi support is optional and separate from a software purchase. Following an external link brings you under that site’s privacy practices. Ko-fi and its payment providers process optional support payments under their own privacy notices; we do not receive your full payment-card details. No Ko-fi checkout or third-party tracking widget is embedded in this site.

Requested launch and early-bird emails

If you previously opted in to NeuRig launch updates, beta news and the early-bird offer from VargAud Labs, we use that requested subscription to send the NeuRig MIDI launch email through Resend. The launch offer gives each eligible subscriber a separate, single-use €10 discount code, valid until 10 November 2026; the exact expiry is included in the email. A software download, trial, purchase or support enquiry does not create this subscription.

For this requested email we process your email address, the recorded consent source, your assigned code and expiry, dispatch status and provider acceptance information. The legal basis for the marketing subscription is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Each email includes an unsubscribe link: opening it displays a confirmation page, and confirming it, or using a supported email app’s one-click unsubscribe action, suppresses further marketing emails. Unsubscribing does not prevent necessary purchase, licence, activation or support messages.

The campaign and suppression records are kept as needed to document consent and dispatch, prevent duplicate sends and honour an opt-out; no automatic deletion deadline is promised. The unsubscribe link is personal: do not share it. You can also withdraw your marketing consent or ask about your records at [email protected], without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Trial, licences and purchases

The seven-day trial and existing licence activation are available through NeuRig MIDI. Visiting this website or downloading the installer does not start a trial. A purchase requires a separate choice in the app, without automatic trial conversion.

Starting a trial, buying a licence, approving another Mac or releasing an activation sends the information needed for that action to the NeuRig licensing service. This includes a product-specific hash derived from the Mac’s hardware identifier, a device public key, request and activation identifiers, timestamps and the relevant licence or order reference. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not anonymous. The hardware identifier itself and the device’s private signing key are not sent by the licensing request. The licensing service does not need your MIDI activity, audio, preset library or personal files.

Trial and activation records enforce the one-trial-per-Mac rule, the seven-day period and the two-active-Mac limit. Purchase records include the Paddle transaction reference and purchase email, used for licence delivery, activation approval and purchase support. This does not subscribe you to announcements. Necessary transactional messages are delivered through Resend. Paid activation can work offline without recurring usage reports. The app can retrieve a signed licence-details receipt containing your purchase email and save it separately on your Mac for offline display; it does not contain a payment-card number or grant additional access.

Paddle acts as reseller and merchant of record for purchases. It processes payment, billing and tax information under its own privacy notice and sends the order data needed to fulfil the licence. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number or security code. The licensing service is hosted by Hetzner, with website and API delivery through Cloudflare. Provider processing, including any processing outside the EEA, must follow the applicable data-protection arrangements and safeguards.

The legal bases for requested trial fulfilment, purchase delivery and activation are performance of a contract or steps before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)); necessary fraud prevention, one-trial enforcement and service security rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)); legally required records rely on legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Activation information is necessary to provide the requested trial or licence.

The minimum trial/device history is retained as needed to avoid restarting a used trial and handle disputes. Licence, order and activation records are retained while needed for licence support, recovery, abuse prevention and applicable legal obligations or claims. Records are removed or minimised when their purpose ends, unless continued retention remains necessary for those reasons. No automatic deletion schedule is promised.

Secure checkout

Start a purchase in NeuRig MIDI to open an app-linked purchase page. Only after you choose Continue to secure checkout does that page request the matching transaction from our service and load Paddle’s checkout SDK. Paddle processes the payment and any discount or billing details, and may use necessary storage and security mechanisms described in its checkout privacy information. Product and policy pages do not load that SDK. We do not receive your full payment-card number or security code.

Product feedback

The feedback form saves your one-to-five-star rating and your answers about your experience with NeuRig MIDI and what could be improved. You can optionally attach images, videos or NeuRig preset files for the site owner to review privately. Files can contain embedded metadata, so check what you attach before sending. Name and email are optional. If you provide a name or alias, it is saved privately with your feedback. If you provide an email address, it is saved only so Ákos can reply to your feedback; leaving it empty is fine. Please do not include passwords, activation codes, private links or sensitive personal information.

Private feedback is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving and supporting the product (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Publication of a review and, separately, its attachments relies on your optional consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Feedback is stored privately for product review. If you select the separate, optional publication checkbox, you allow your rating and written feedback to appear as a review on this website after owner review. With that permission, your optional name or alias is also used as the public display name; leave it blank to appear as Anonymous. Without publication permission, a provided name remains private. Sharing attachments requires a separate optional checkbox as well as permission to publish your review. Only individual files selected by the owner appear with an approved review: images and videos can be viewed, and presets can be downloaded by other visitors. Other attachments remain private. Your reply email is never used as a public name or displayed. Permission does not guarantee publication, and submitting feedback does not publish it automatically. You can ask to withdraw publication permission using the contact address above. Without that permission your feedback remains private. Form contents are not sent to website analytics or used to subscribe you to email updates. The feedback record does not store your IP address, browser details or cookies; connection information is used briefly to limit repeated requests. Ordinary hosting and delivery records remain separate.

Feedback is kept for product review until the owner removes it; automatic deletion is not currently implemented. To request access, correction or deletion, contact the address above and describe your submission so it can be identified. A reply is handled personally; submitting the form does not send an automatic email. Attachments are not sent to AI services or website analytics. Unsubmitted upload drafts expire after 24 hours and are removed when the storage service next starts or a new upload draft is created. Submitted attachments are retained with your feedback until the owner removes them. Withdrawing permission removes public access on this website; copies already downloaded by others cannot be recalled.

Your rights and contact

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw optional consent without affecting prior lawful processing. Contact the controller above and describe your request so the relevant record can be identified. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
